The Importance Of Bioavailability

What it means and why it matters.

It is not only what you take, but what your body can use

Bioavailability describes how much of an ingredient your body can actually absorb and put to use. Two products can list the same ingredient on the label and still behave very differently once they are swallowed.

Form, dose, and what an ingredient is combined with all play a part. Some nutrients are better absorbed alongside fats, others are helped by a specific companion ingredient, and some are simply more usable in one form than another.

That is why thoughtful formulation matters. A well-designed product considers not just what goes in, but how the ingredients work together.

Questions worth asking

  • Which form of the ingredient is used?
  • Is it paired with anything that supports absorption?
  • Is the dose in line with the research?

Understanding bioavailability helps you compare products on more than price and packaging.
